I tried to keep my mind off my impending death. I did have faith in the pack, but I never stopped worrying that she would somehow get by them. If she only knew that killing me would be for nothing. It's not a mate for a mate, since I'm not and was never Edward's mate. In fact, I was just the 'family's' pet. I tried not to think of them or him.
